Being comfortable with the present enough to be happy with it.

Being okay with today, knowing tomorrow is coming soon

enough as an opportunity to improve,

try again, and work hard on obtaining what your heart desires.

I think the word content scares you.

It makes you feel like you are settling.

As if it says,

you must stop wishing for better,

knowing you can have better,

and desiring better to be now.

Content is not complacent.

Contentment allows room for patience.

Patience allows room for growth.

Growth allows room for evolution.

Evolution allows room for love.

Love allows room for true happiness.

Images collide with blood splatter across the floor. Truth shoots right out of me. Spiraling, covering 750 feet per second. Before blinks,my truth hits their spirits. Before smiles, my truth hits their heart. Before death, my truth touches their minds. I’ve been silenced and gave life to the voices inside. The should’a, could’a is now.

I owe truth that much.

… without the Internet?

… without Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter?

Or what would you do if your dream life were just a “Yes!” away?

I mean really, think about it…

When was the last time you actually used the phone book?

When was the last time you dropped everything life threw at you, to actually accomplish your dreams?

For some, maybe even most,  not lately.

Amazingly enough, I met this author through social media and his latest book, Hollywood Forever forces you to ask yourself the above question,

“WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR DREAM LIFE IS JUST A ‘YES!’ AWAY?”

In Hollywood Forever by Christopher Herz, Harold Hall is an aspiring actor looking for the role of his dreams. On his journey, he crosses paths with a love he can’t let go. You know, that love that you can’t live without, where every thing in your day has to be surrounded around when you will see your lover again. As he moves through his life, Harold observes how everyone around is so absorbed into their social media realities and fantasies of being “someone,” himself included.

While reading the novel, I found myself having an out of body experience, again, the first having been with Herz’ novel The Last Block on Harlem. I found myself visually recounting my day and how many times I stopped to update my status, share a photo, Retweet something, or like a page on Facebook. There were moments when I would have to stop reading because the reality is that we are consumed without sometimes realizing it. Failing to want to admit it, I too have been consumed by social media.

You see, Harold doesn’t stop there on his quest for more out of life. His next twists and turns will have you trying to guess what’s next. Question yourself as if you were in his position, or if you were in his circle of associates.

WHAT YOUR MIND DESIRED, WOULD YOU TAKE IT WITHOUT LOOKING BACK?

The best thing I love about Christopher Herz writing is that is captures you, swings you through a list of events that could be YOU! Forcing you to make a choice and realize theirs always more to gain from reading a book, then just purely pleasure.

Amazingly enough, just like his first book, The Last Block on Harlem, Herz has awaken my sleeping dragon. Over the last six months I found myself unable to sink into a book and escape. I was so consumed with writing, studying, and editing that reading became a chore.

Hollywood Forever is refreshingly current. It will have you asking yourself,

AM I JUST LIKE HAROLD?

Overall: Christopher Herz has a way with your imagination. He connects our social media driven world with our socially driven dreams. His writing style, descriptive yet not overly revealing, will have you on edge, flipping page after page wanting to find out what happens next.
